Presentation
Puente is a European project which goal is to design intergenerational learning activities en public places, fostering meaningful social interactions and rewarding learning experiences both for adults and youngsters. We aim at engaging together older people and youth in informal learning activities (e.g. leisure, recreation, art festivals, exhibitions, sports).

Mission
- Study and define a conceptual model for designing innovative learning environments specifically targeting intergenerational learning in informal learning contexts.
- Understand the conditions for transferring the conceptual model to formal learning settings (primary and secondary schools).

Activities
Puente realises fieldwork activities (observation, codesign and transferability) in colaboration with six public spaces in Europe (museums, local community areas, Computer Clubhouse, etc.); one of them is the Museum of the History of Catalonia.

Context
The PUENTE idea of intergenerational learning is a socially-rewarding activity which sees both old people and young people mutually generating and sharing culture.

In Europe, social and educational policies promote lifelong learning learning as a way to foster active citizenship across all ages and social strata.
Public places (museums, open public spaces, cultural centres, etc.) can foster social inter generational links and mutual learning.
There is a lack of knowledge about the role of ICT to improve the learning process in intergenerational settings and its social dynamics.
